HVCA represent companies that install and maintain heating, plumbing and air conditioning/ventilation systems. Members are independently audited every 3 years for technical competence and quality of workmanship. All domestic contractors are registered with TRUSTMARK (a scheme supported by the government) and if they deal with gas they will be CORGI registered.
Contractors do not hold ID cards but can issue leaflets giving details of HVCA/TrustMark.
As part of the membership procedure contractors have to prove they have the relevant qualifications for their particular field of work and all HVCA members are subject to an inspection and assessment every 3 years. HVCA run a complaints procedure and all members hold public liability insurance.
