National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting - NICEIC

NICEIC aim to protect the public from unsafe electrical installations.

NICEIC gives an indication to clients that the business is reputable, reliable and works to the industry standards and they will investigate complaints about their members' work.
All members are Part P registered.

Traders have to register every job they do with NICEIC that involves an extension or addition of any type, however small.  If a job involves replacing like for like they do not need to register it.
Following completion of each job all NICEIC Approved Contractors must issue certificates to the client for all work carried out in accordance with the national standard BS 7671.
If the job was an extension or addition NICEIC will also send the client a certificate.
NICEIC provides the client with insurance back warranty – this means if the trader goes out of business NICEIC will cover the warranty.

When you select a trader on-screen help will guide you through the process of ensuring your work will be performed in accordance with legal requirements.
