The National Association of Professional Inspectors and Testers - NAPIT

NAPIT provide an independent professional trade body for electricians and allied trades to include plumbing, heating and ventilation and air conditioning throughout the UK.  NAPIT only accept electricians who have inspection and testing amongst their qualifications and all their members are Part P registered.  Members have ID cards giving the registration renewal date.

Traders have to register every job they do with NAPIT that involves an extension or addition of any type, however small.  If a job involves replacing like for like they do not need to register it.

Traders should issue a certificate following completion of each job to the client.  If the job was an extension or addition NAPIT will also send the client a certificate.

NAPIT will investigate complaints about their members' work and members are expected to hold public liability insurance.
